The narcissistic victim mentality is not one of being persecuted by other people, it is a victimhood mentality that they use to validate the abuse that they do to other people.

Example I: Lee & Mai

The narcissist puts on the silent treatment and stonewalls Lee all day. Secretly he’s just happy to have some peace and quiet.

Lee starts finishing up what he was doing for the day in his office and he decides to get something to eat from the kitchen while it’s quiet.

He is about to fix himself some food when his narcissistic girlfriend Mai slithers in and asks “Why do you hate me so much” with a tearstained expression, all the time trying to create a perfect Jane Austen scene in which he will not have the narcissist, and this revelation has ruined her life. And oh Mr. Bennett, what is to be become of us all!

Awkwardly Lee looks up from the rice he was about to cook and says “Um, I don’t know. I am cooking rice just now.”

Mai launches a tirade of accusations at Lee, chief of which is that “You love your rice more than me!”.
