There will always be people in your life who are time stealers. They always want you to run them to the store because they don’t have a car, or will you cook for them because they’re just terrible at it, and the list goes on…

Don’t get me wrong, you should help out in your community. Its an honourable thing to do, after all, you only really have each other if the grid goes out and the chips are down.

However, this ones about friends, family or co-workers who are around you often and constantly ask you for things but they provide little to nothing in return.

It can start gradually at first, like a creeping thing, and over time you become a rock to this person, but they’re never there for you.

So how do you pull back from the constant favours, help and care giving while not seeming rude, or cutting them off entirely?

There’s only one thing you need to pull this off: Boundaries. Let’s say you have a few friends that you offered a ride to the store because they don’t have a car. And it was only one time a while back.

In your mind it was an honest favour, a kindness and a one off. But now its months…
