Narcissists do this by invalidating your own thoughts, opinions, and experiences.
This is not the act of merely disagreeing with you or portraying their differing opinion on a subject, they are outright enraged with bitter hatred at your hobbies, ideas, or career choice.
Basically, at all the fundamental ideas that make you unique and they will seek to destroy them by viciously attacking them.
Believe it or not, this is the first red flag that usually presents itself, and it’s the most common one that is ignored. You will see this within 48hrs of talking candidly with the narcissist because they can’t help it, they have to push your boundaries.
